Frequently Asked Questions
-
While we're primarily based in and serve Georgetown County, our FAA and state licensing isn't geographically restricted, so we're able to take jobs anywhere in South Carolina.
-
Yes. Lowcountry Drone Spraying Inc. offers free consultations and quotes. We can often evaluate a property using maps, photographs, and information provided by the customer. If an on-site assessment is necessary, we will discuss that with you beforehand.
-
We handle properties of many different sizes. Our minimums are generally based on the total job rather than a specific number of acres. Because every application requires travel, setup, equipment, and compliance procedures, a minimum service charge may apply.
-
Our T40 can hold up to 10 gallons of liquid chemical for spraying herbicides, insecticides, or fungicides. Switched to spreading mode, it carries a 100-pound granular spreader for seed and fertilizer distribution—giving us the flexibility to handle both liquid and dry applications with the same aircraft.
-
Each battery typically provides about 7 minutes of flight time under a full spray load, with actual runtime varying by payload, temperature, and wind conditions. To avoid downtime, we run four batteries per job alongside a generator that recharges a depleted battery in about 9 minutes—so there's always a charged battery ready when the current one runs low.
-
Our drones typically average 20-40 acres an hour.
-
We recommend contacting us at least four to five days in advance, especially during peak spraying and planting seasons. However, we will accommodate short-notice jobs whenever our schedule and weather conditions allow.

In most cases, we supply the chemicals and include them in your quote. If you already have a product, we may be able to apply it after confirming that it is properly labeled, legally permitted, and appropriate for the intended site.

-
The products we use depend on the target vegetation or pest, the treatment area, nearby sensitive areas, and the customer’s goals. We use EPA-registered products labeled for the specific application site and apply them according to label directions.
Every product has different precautions and restrictions. Before an application, we evaluate nearby homes, crops, animals, ponds, wetlands, and other water sources. Aquatic areas are treated only with products labeled for aquatic use. We explain any precautions, grazing restrictions, or re-entry requirements before beginning the job.
-
Re-entry time varies depending on the product and application site. People, pets, and livestock must remain outside the treatment area during application and until the spray has dried or the product’s required re-entry interval has passed, whichever is longer. We provide the applicable re-entry, grazing, feeding, and harvest instructions before each treatment.
-
Usually, no. As long as we have permission to access the property and have confirmed the treatment boundaries, gates, obstacles, livestock locations, water sources, and nearby sensitive areas, the property owner does not need to be present. We may recommend meeting at the property before certain first-time or more complex projects.
We're happy to talk through the specifics of your project.
